Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation |
Did you know that the number one killer of men and women in America is Cardiovascular Disease? It kills more people per year than the other leading causes of death combined (cancer, accidents, pneumonia, diabetes, AIDS and suicide). Consequently, close to ONE MILLION people per year die of heart disease. At FIT-N-WISE, we take this information to heart and are working to improve this statistic. The Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program at FIT-N-WISE works with people who have heart or lung disease. Our program provides education, exercise and a social atmosphere to help decrease the chances of further damage. The program has a professional staff of Nurses, Exercise Physiologists and Respiratory Therapists who provide a safe and appealing environment for patients to exercise. Patients are monitored throughout their exercise sessions with a state of the art computer program. In addition, patients are educated about choosing healthier diets, the way their heart and lungs work, ways to decrease stress levels and much more. This program has attained a tremendous reputation among patients and physicians throughout North Texas. In order to participate in our program, a person must be diagnosed with stable heart disease, recent heart surgery (stent, bypass, open heart), COPD, asthma or symptomatic lung disease and also be recommended by any physician. If you have been diagnosed with Cardiopulmonary Disease, talk with your physician about our program, so that we may help you avoid becoming a statistic. |
