The
Medical Surgical Unit From
pediatric to geriatric and everywhere in between, the Medical/Surgical
Unit at Wise Regional Health System offers compassionate, total patient
care in a family oriented setting. The Health care team is comprised
of RNs, LVNs, PCAs, RT, PT, and Physicians. The patient populations
served are general post surgical, medical, orthopedic, cardiac and pediatric.
Each patient will enjoy the focused attention of a primary care nurse
that is responsible for the coordination and delivery of that patient's
care and attention to personal needs. This specialized unit has 45 beds,
two isolation rooms and capacity for 18 telemetry units. The unit is
configured in a "V" shape with a central desk that provides alert visual
access to all rooms and easy access to supplies and medications. Sub
stations are located down each hall to allow the nurse to remain in
her patient's care area for more personalized attention. The unit's
design promotes and an expeditious response to patient needs more time
for the nurse at the bedside.
