Women's Services

 Mammography

Wise Regional Health System is proud to introduce a new Center of Excellence dedicated to Women's Services. The Women's Services department provides a wide range of health care services for new mothers and their infants as well as women requiring post-operative care. Wise Regional Health System has recruited board certified physicians specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology to accommodate the special birthing and Surgical needs of women.

Four post-partum beds are available for new mothers and their infants, with rooming-in encouraged. A variety of updated education is offered, including infant care, breast-feeding and child safety.

Six additional beds in the unit provide post-operative care for women undergoing surgical procedures. Individual attention and a more home-like atmosphere makes this a preferred area for women following surgery or childbirth.

In total, the unit boasts 10 private rooms with adjoining baths in a closed and secure environment. Privacy and courtesy are key elements in the nursing care provided. RN's are on duty 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well as Neonatal Resuscitation. A lower nurse to patient ratio allows more time for individual instruction and care, while the quieter and more private surroundings enhance rest and recuperation. The Women's Services unit is a great alternative for women seeking a supportive and restful environment for their health care needs.
