Dr. Greg Garrett, a board certified radiation oncologist who heads the North Texas Cancer Center at Wise County, is someone who takes great pride in being able to improve the quality of life for those diagnosed with cancer.

He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Dr. Garrett also completed training in therapeutic radiology at the Charles Sammons Cancer Center at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Garrett was drawn to oncology because it is a fast-moving field with medical advances that happen in a short period of time. He believes that only leads to improved care for his patients, and he enjoys the precision that today’s tools allow him as he treats his patients with various oncological medical needs.

Dr. Garrett is a man of his community who enjoys a rural lifestyle. He has served the town of Decatur in far north Texas for several years and before that, spent 17 years in Odessa. A native Texan from the town of Marlin, Dr. Garrett has one boot firmly planted in the country, and one in the scientific community, learning the latest medical advances. He brings those two together at the North Texas Cancer Center at Wise, allowing his patients from rural areas the same excellent cancer care they would get in the city without the long commute. Dr. Garrett believes it’s all a part of a good quality of life for someone with a cancer diagnosis and for their families.

Dr. Garrett and his wife have two sons with families of their own, one in Aledo and one in Flower Mound. They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
