Hooty the Healthwise Owl

Welcome! Hooty is glad you’re here!

Hooty the Healthwise Owl joined the Wise Regional Health System family on October 18, 2008 at the hospital’s annual health fair.

He flew into town with the help of the kind helicopter pilots at Air Evac LifeTeam and was greeted by hospital staff, community members and a number of local area high school mascots!

Hooty represents Wise Regional Health System in various educational materials and in-person at hospital special events and community events.

Most importantly, Hooty serves as the hospital’s ambassador to model healthy behaviors and teaches kids important health and safety information. During the spring of 2009, Hooty met with more than 3,100 elementary school students in Wise County to teach Sun Safety. A video overview of this program can be seen at the right.
