Anesthesia is a critical component of many hospital services. For elective and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures, the anesthesia department at Wise Regional provides 24-hour coverage for thousands of procedures each year, including:

• Cardiac procedures – including cardiac catheterizations, valve surgery and bypass surgery
• Diagnostic tests and non-surgical procedures requiring a patient to remain motionless – including imaging or scanning procedures and gastrointestinal procedures
• Post-operative pain management – to provide post-operative relief for patients, allowing them to rest, relax and recover properly
• Treatment of chronic pain
• Labor epidural analgesia for pain management during labor and delivery
